Course approval and closure processes 

The requirement. Middlesex had revised its governance approval mechanisms and needed course approval and closure processes rebuilt to match, with genuine streamlining rather than documentation of what already happened. 

The approach. AHEP Consulting designed a workflow solution covering both approval and closure, with consultant time on campus and close liaison throughout. The timeline was set around the academic cycle rather than against it, and an interim options report allowed the university to take decisions partway through rather than waiting for a final report. 

The outcome. Revised forms and a documented process aligned to the new governance arrangements.
